On average, most of us wash our hair about 2-3 times a week if we do not have skin problems such as dandruff, psoriasis or other conditions causing excessive hair loss. This is correct. The temptation to wash your hair more often occurs when you lead an active lifestyle and your hair is “greasy” after a strenuous workout. Should I wash my hair then?
It is important to know that after intensive exercise the scalp produces a hormone, which is responsible for hair loss along with the sebum and sweat mixture. Therefore, you should not postpone washing your hair after exercise until the day after, because over time you may notice a significant thinning of your hair. So if you feel that your scalp is itchy after a workout, or worse, sweaty, then you need to wash your hair!
When we work out regularly, we also don’t have as much time to provide our hair with comprehensive care. For example, if you quickly need to move to a different destination after training, you will no longer be able to oil your hair or apply a hair mask or a remover after shampooing. Therefore, it is worth “spare” to apply a conditioner or mask, between shampooing.
On non-workout days you can give your hair a home spa treatment with a regenerating mask. First apply the cosmetic to the scalp and massage for a few minutes, then rinse, apply another layer and wash again. This is a great way to regenerate weakened hair, so you don’t have to worry that you only shampooed your hair after training and did not moisturize it with additional conditioner.
Another important hair care tip is to oil your hair. This is usually done in the evening, preferably at night, because oily hair looks greasy, so it’s not necessarily aesthetically pleasing to go out with it before a workout
In addition, if you treat your hair to such a cosmetic treatment before an intensive workout, the sweat and sebum accumulated on the scalp during exercise combined with the oil may cause scalp irritation and excessive itching. We therefore recommend oiling your hair at night. In the morning, shampoo your hair thoroughly.
